It is Kyle, they did the tests from one station, to another and see how much fuel it took to get the tank back to full. However there was a guy with a Cummins I believe it was that got 4x something mpg and he wasn't using an additional injection. I'll see if I can't find the article again.

I looked it up Kyle, the guy that got 45mpg was using a CNG assisted system while the guy who got 35mpg was using a low pressure nitrous system that he invented. They didn't say much about it but the guy stated it only activiates on grades and light throttle acceleration tp help the truck get moving. So really, that's kinda impressive since he's not using and additional fuel source to get his added mpg. Be interesting to find out more.

That's kinda interesting... so he's using a little N2O to burn the fuel more completely under low load so the turbo doesn't have to spool and feed air to the motor. Still kind of an "adder" in a way.

No doubt it's and adder, just not a fuel adder!!
In truth/theory it just makes the combustion more efficient since he doesn't have to wait for the turbo to light off thus sparing himself the unbrunt fuel that would otherwise be necessary to get to that point. Although with the method he's doing, I wouldn't really think would be financially advantageous. Then again it depends on how much nitrous he uses and the cost of re-fills, how frequent, etc...
Kinda neat concept though.

Man I love my duramax to death, but the MPG thing always kind of gets me. I avg 15-18 over the whole tank. Ya I probably get 22 on the highway, but stop and go kills these things. Not to mention the price of diesel and maintenance. I still wouldn't get rid of it, but I wouldn't but one purely for the mileage. If you can afford a duramax, you'll love it. Just don't think you'll save any money owning a diesel over the gasser.

I have tried the Diablo programer and just loaded the fuel economy EFI Live program listed on another forum. I can't seem to get much better than 16-17 hand calculated MPG. This is running 65-75 from top off to fill up recently. Around town I get around 12.5 to just under 14 around town driving. Mine is an 06 LBZ, with 33x13's crew cab with a cold air intake and 4" turbo back exhaust. I have absolutely NO idea how some of you guys are getting 20 plus MPG
