The internal electrical harness is different. Some of the other hard parts changed a little from the 97 unit as well.
The 97 also has no top bolt hole. People have used them any way, just an FYI.
Not sure if the cooler lines are side by side or if they are spaced apart like on the 06 model.

yeah i read there are a few differences, i wonder if its possible to use my existing harness, bell housing ect. just build the internals.
my trans isnt completely gone. works fine but every once in a while i get that slow lug into 4th, it concerns me. i thought about adding a shift kit but didnt want to waste the money if its going to give

I have a 95' in my truck. Wired it up the same as you would a newer models. The cooler lines are in the same position as the 60e. I'm making around 800 on a stock 4l80e with a shift kit..
