Hedman #69391 headers,for 88-95 Chevy 4x4 with a 454

There is a set of these for sale locally,what other than the heads has changed with the 96-2000 OBS trucks and would they work on the later
models?

 

I run the 1988-95 TBI headers on my 1997 Vortec truck, SBC though. Souldnt be any differnt ofr your Vortec BBC.

The frames and bodies are 100% the same, theyare all GMT 400 trucks.

I hear ya,but there is a lot more room for slight differences with a small block,I'm sure if they would fit their catalog would make mention of them working on the 96-99 L29 454 trucks,I would hate to pull the stock manifolds and end up putting them back on.

 

If your asking if a set of 350 headers will work on a 454 then no they will not.

 

Thanks,but that is not the question I would have ever asked in the last forty or so years,feel free to add your knowledge about the last generation of 454 truck engines and headers that fit on them.

 

No they wouldnt, because the TBI trucks dont use 4 O2 sensors and an EGR feed which the Vortec trucks DO. They only list what they exactly fit.

There is no difference between a 88-95 truck and a 96-99 truck, but suit yourself.

they fit perfectly. they just dont have an egr port or 02 sensor bungs. on mine I did away with egr and tuned it out. I welded in bungs for the 02 sensors my self.
