Default 2013 2500 HD running poor AF

So, I’ve owned a 02 2500 with the LQ4. The dyno tune hd it at 292 rwhp and some didn’t believe it. Idgaf since it was literally just a tune to help it be a tow mule.

2004 2500 LQ4, ran decent as well. After a tune it ran ok like the 02 model.

now I have a 2013 and this pile of **** after a tune yesterday with a LY6, 6L90, 3.73 gears and legit *** 65k miles on this thing……

runs like *** IMO. In a hella stretch of release are I use for testing, from one light where I leave to the other, I can peg out 140-150 in some of my cars.

This fat bitch won’t his triple digits. 100 MPH is NOT doable by the time I need to stop for this next light. After the tune.

shifts are better of course but god damn why is this such a ******* pig?

first attempt my tuner is like “oh, forgot to run speed limiter off”.

we fixed that. Same ****. Are these all this ******* anemic? I’ve had guys on fuckbook tell me that “it’s the gearing” “it’s heavy”

I don’t give a ****. If a **** garbage *** LQ4 can do 110+ on the same stretch, a slightly heavier truck with a god damn better trans and better engine should do the same.

no offense to you guys that are new to this or think you know **** about ****, but I need help from those with MORE actual experience with these trucks that my own. Not just theoretical assumptions. Facebook had enough of those guys getting *** hurt when my replies didn’t prompt *** hurt. So just want to get that out of the way. Not here to hurt feels when I reply however I do.

I’ve been LS swapping before it was cool. So don’t rank me as some random *** guy thag doesn’t know **** about ****.

the issue is mind boggling to me, but if others had the same issue I can just live with it.

I have a 08 1500 5.3 and I swear it would wipe its *** with my 13 model 2500. Both tuned

Post the tune and logs, that is the only way for me to see what is happening.

I use HP Tuners, so it would have been needed to be tuned with that for me to offer any help. You swearing up a storm and ranting can't really help with data for people to see.

I agree. No need for all the foul language.

I dont recall seeing what tire size if you mentioned it.

A 5.3 1500 probably will stomp a mud hole in a heavy 2500 with a 6.0L. The big torque killer on the later 6.0L is the rectangle port heads. A set of ported up 862s and a TBSS/NBS cathedral port intake would really beef up the torque output. 2 of my buddies have the same work vans with your powertrain. Both are complete dogs, especially when it is hot outside. They are so anemic off the line they are almost dangerous to drive. They cruise 70-75 mph well enough but are pigs and drink gas. Both came out of 6.6L Duramax/4L85E vans.

.
. What axle gear ratio does your pig roll in ?
What is your fuel pressure at open throttle ?
Spark timing in the 2800 to 5500 rpm range ?

I have an 08 2500 ly6/6l90/3.73 and just a tune. For a big *** truck, it rips pretty good. Might want to check that tune...

Have you had any luck on getting it to run closer to where you want.
These trucks are just dogs and run like a 305 did back in the old days for those of you who remember those dark years.
I have long felt it's due to the square port heads and the garbage cam they use in them. They are great heads for a cars RPM band but not a loaded 3500 work truck.

I'm currently building a NA 6.2 for my half ton but going with LS6 heads and good truck cam for this very reason. If it runs awesome then great if not I'll swap heads and intake to square ports

Cam makes the biggest difference but like you mentioned that doesn't help in the 2000 rpm range. Keep on with the LS6 heads and a small cam if you want to keep it for truck stuff.
