porting...
Well the staff at Stainless Steel Headers are very helpful. They're sending my machinist the two different size "D" port flanges they build the 8.1l headers in. Got my cam today from Raylar. It's a copy of the new BP213 grind. Intake side is .639/248 and the exhaust side is .645/257. This should make for good mid to top power and a very lumpy idle.

It's going in my '06 2500 4wd. I started doing a 525 (.060 over 4.500 stroke with 6.700 rods) But Larry had this Dart block that another customer of his bailed on so I picked it up. The 525 is still getting completed as well next to the 634. Now that the dirt racers are on break, i finally got a slot for my engines.

It's just a bone stock '06 Sierra extended cab short bed. I love a sleeper. I have one of the CNC heads that I took to my machinist to use as a giude for porting and he was not real impressed with it. There are design issues he has a problem with and that's why we did a bunch of welding on them. Mine will be done soon and I'll share the numbers. I'd have the heads you have done by a competent head guy and save some $$$. The Profiler casting is a good start but require additional work to make them better.

The heads are just lacking the final polish and touches. Still waiting for flow numbers. Raising the seats yeilded chambers that are 107.4cc's. With the dish pistons I found my static comp ratio is 10.6. The block is still waiting final hone. It seems his SBC set up is still taking the front seat until there are several more BBC's to make the change in the machine. My new cam choice is a custom grind from Comp cams having a .715 gross lift and durations of 258 I and 263 E @ .050. T&D is currently engineering shaft mounted rockers for me to fit Larry's Profiler heads and I also have Crower working on them as well. We'll see who finishes first. ARP is making custom studs for me to go deeper in the castings on the exhaust side. Not much can be done on the intake side but with the shaft mounts it should all lock together. On the induction sid eof things, I successfully twisted Larry's arm and he's close to having the lower section completed on the individual stack injection manifold from his favorite engine, the HO 750. I will not have any problems getting air into it. Hopefully I don't have to have anymore custom parts engineered and made.
