Cool '06 Dmax CCSB 4x4

my boss is fixin to get a '06 Dmax/allison, 4.10 or 3.73 (not sure), crewcab, shortbed.
what MPG should this thing get on the intersate?
or does anyone have one of these that could tell me what is their average MPG?

right now he has a '03 ford f150 supercrew 4x4, FX4, gas guzzler 5.4, he is averaging 12mpg right now. pulling his mastercraft boat he gets 7-8 mpg.

i finally talked him in to getting a oil burner, and he can get a really good deal on this '06 Dmax so he is taking it.

Thanks fellas!!!

In the D-max he should expect a little more than what his getting now! On the highway he should see most of the improvement. Most diesels from the factory dont give an average MPG because it's all up to the consumer on how he is going to be using it! BUt he should be way better off with his D-max!

I have 25000 miles and I hand calculate every tank, and I get anywhere from 15 to 18 mpg mixed city and highway. Just strictly highway driving is around 20 mpg, but I have an 04.5 and it only has a 5 speed. The 06's have a 6 speed and will do better on the highway. Hope this helps.

My 06 2WD CC got 15.32 on the first tank, all city driving with the A/C blasting the whole time. I suspect 20 on the highway, as long as you keep it under 75.

Tell him to wait, they're uping the power mid-year for the 06's 365/650 I think. Plus the allison 6 speed, but I think all 06's may be getting the tranny.

The 06's have every thing the 06.5 motor has except the stronger block and the added HP/TQ. It has the new injecton system, better cooling, better intake system and the 6 speed Allison.

well he went ahead and got the '06. he got 15.5 on the first tank. way better than that crappy F-150 he had. we are trying to figure what to get so it will get a little better fuel mileage and some extra power. Intake? Exhaust? Programmer or module?
Little help please!!?? he has the money to burn! I dont. haha thanks guys!

my brother has a Company RCSB 04 Dmax w/6speed manual. with a utility bed. and it weighs 11,500 lbs with 60gals of fuel. and he gets 17.5-18 pulling a 16' trailer. with out a trailer he gets 18-18.5mpg. pretty good with only a K&N filter.

Your boss should've waited. The early 06's are gonna be bastard motors. They're LLY based with a new Bosch FMU. The 06.5 will be ready to order as early as October. It will have the higher HP/TQ LBZ motor. The 06 LLY will be a motor for light duty trucks that lasts at best 6 months. I'm sure someone will make a programmer for it but your options will most likely be very limited.

Rich.
