the midshaft will work, but If you already have the 5 speed hole, you will just need to trim it back a little further and the t56 stock shifter location will be fine. I think it needed to be trimmed back like 2-3 inches but I did mine years ago

The transmission will mount in the same location as my nv3500. I have all the wiring harness for engine and trans. I was getting 700 because of the cost of labor to install it. I have rebuilt my trans and done a lot of other things but I don't want to take the risk and mess something up when installing the midshift. This was a project my dad and I started about 6 months ago and he pasted away due to cancer. I want to finish this swap for him.
Might just want to swap in a console and forget about keeping the seat , just a suggestion .

Thank you! I'm going to switch out the seat for the center console. My next question. How about rear gear ratio. I have the fbody t56 which is out of a 95z28. Should I go with 4.56 or 4.88? Or something else. I want to run about 1900 rpm at 70 on the interstate. Lol

Ive had a couple lt1 cars (97 30th anniversary z28 m6 and a 96 collectors edition lt4 m6 corvette) and i would consider getting another one but i would never swap ls to lt1. To me that is like going from fuel injection back to a carb. lol. it would be very unique but there is a reason why nobody eles does it. I agree you need to get that 4.3 out of there but if i were you i would sell all the lt stuff and build a ls motor they are really cheap.

Dont listen to the naysayers, that LT1 will have days more torque where you need it than any LS motor. LSs are nice, but theres not a thing wrong with an LT1 that a TPI manifold and Vortec distributor wont fix.
