building a better 46re
Hi,
I've a 2003 dodge dakota r/t with the 5.9 liter and a 46re trans. I have a k&n cold air intake, stronger coil and wires, and a gibbson cat-back exhaust. The engine runs great, but the trans is kind of sloppy. How can I make it shift firmer?
thanks
brian

start with a trans-go shift kit,if you don't feel that you can handle the kit you can by valve bodys already done APS Precision If you have a basic tool set and basic mechanical knowladge you could prolly tackle it.

Trans Go shift kit should come with instructions and parts to install it with 3 different settings. Make a decision before diving in becasue it's a big project to drop the tranny and do it. Medium setting is a good bet. If you want a bad *** tranny, APS Super Torque Twister is what I;m running. He built mine to spec based on my motor, my cam, etc. $4K though so it's quite a bit more than a shift kit. Consider a torque converter with the shift kit, it makes a big difference. Moapr makes a 2400 stall for a good price, sold mine when I went APS. Good Luck
