Default More mods.....slower times

Last time I raced I was running a 16.6 pretty consistent. Last night I went and ran with the Nelson tune and first was a 16.7, then a 16.8. My best was a 16.69 with slower mph. I know my truck has gotten faster with the tune but I think it was traction problems. 3.42's with no posi and my back right tire just spins. I guess I need to work on hooking up now instead of getting more power. I'm going to san angelo tonight to try their track out and see what numbers I can come up with. And by any means i'm not talking bad about the tune just my traction.

what kind of 60ft times were you getting compared to before the tune? also, how long have you had the tune? they need some miles on them to reach their full potential.

they were about 2.5 something and my fastest was 2.49. It is kinda the same 60ft as before. I have over 1000 miles on the tune. Maybe because it was kinda warm outside. But I was struggling just to try and run a 16.6. I'm gonna but my front tires on the back because they have better tread and see what I can do tonight if the weather is good.

About 84mph. It used to be 85mph. But I didn't give my truck a chance to rest. I drove to the track about 20 miles away and I always keep my foot on the pedal so maybe I should have gave it a chance to cool down. I ran it about 6 or 7 times. I rev it about 900rpms when i take off. Don't know what is wrong?

4.10's, 3000 converter, and a posi, IMO. 4.8's don't much grunt down low so you need more gear to get that heavy truck off the line! Try easing the gas to the floor instead of cramming it, if you are not already.

what were the temps before the tune. if it was cold before the tune you will balance out in hot weather when you ran your best time before. if that makes sense?

Yeah it does make sense. It was cooler temps but mainly it is my traction problem. Sometimes my truck runs good and sometimes it is real sluggish. I'm working on ordering the gears and posi right now.

yeah it ticked me off. We got there and they said they rescheduled next week. Pretty much a waste of a trip. I don't know if I will go or not next week.
