Default 2 inch Lift?

Alright, so you guys are probably getting sick of my crazy ideas all across this site, but here's one I've been thinking about for a while.

The stock silverado is just a little too short for my liking. It just doesn't look like a full-size truck. Sure, the handling is great, and it fits in garages, but I think i need a height increase (everybody says lower it, but I'm a sucker for a truck with big tires)

I think the HD trucks have a good height, and I'm in love with this guy's rig: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2539570

How would a 2 inch suspension lift be? His looks great. But, handling wise, how will it compare? What will I be getting myself into. I know I'll need to recalibrate the Speedo, but what else? What brands are good? How much should I expect to pay? Do any shops in massachusetts do them? (I don't feel like messing around with the steering linkage...)

Oh, and I don't care so much about off-roading (at least nothing hard-core) I just want the look. (BTW, where do the HD trucks get their height... it looks to me like more of a body lift, since you seem to see a lot more frame, no?)

I take it you have a 4wd 99-06 Silverado/Sierra 1500. Do a search on cranking and re-keying the torsion bars, that will get you the 2" of lift that you want for very little cost if you do it yourself. If you have a 2wd, go with a spindle lift.

I've heard bad things about the torsion lift. I really dont want that much wear and tear on it...

There's no reason why you can't safely crank your torsion bars 2" with a set of ford keys. Now if you go anything above that then you're asking for trouble, but there are tons of guys who have a 2" crank and have had zero problems.
