I'm not sure if this is old news or not but take a look at these.

How much oil are they saving with all that plastic?????

I've read about those. The wheel is part of the tire assembly, so you can't put them on your own wheels. Even though it looks light, it is heavier than a standard wheel and tire it replaces. It has no lateral flex and has some problems when cornering hard. You can't air up or down for load or traction. I'd say it has some problems to work out.

Cops will hate them. Can't shoot out the bad guy's tires.

Crooks will love them for the same reason.

last time we discussed this.. didnt we conclude that the reason why it looks like that is because its for show for the pictures.. the actual tire isnt going to look like that i thought. It was supposed to have sidewalls? right?
