Default DJM Hanger question

I was just wondering how all you guys that have a drop hanger on your trucks installed them. The djm hanger will fit either side of the truck depending on which way it is facing. It will fit the driver side then if you flip it over it will fit the passenger side. If you can please check yours out and let me know. I need to know if you look at it, does the leaf spring hang freely on the hanger (with the hanger in a "n" shape) or if you unbolt the leafs from the hanger will if rest on the hanger( with the hanger in a "u" shape)
Thanx in advance and I hope you understand me!

The rear one by the bumper is the shackle. I am talking about the hanger that holds the front of the leafs.
