Going out to see if it still has some speed. Can't dis the GM racing crate motors for the $$ they can destroy cars with motors 8&9 times more costly.

When you can't beat'm spin'm is how some drivers run, this little Honda ended up 3rd in points over all after back of the pack starts all year, being a rookie and taking the checker'd flag made me, not the most liked guy out there, I could stick handle and well I would push at those who liked to push on me, until one night I was T-boned into the wall, took about a hundred man hours to get the car to roll around the corners again and well I could still take the checker'd flag at the end of the season. Just lost out on 3 nights of any real points and another 3 of mid pack finishes before I could stick handle from front to back.

My first racer lol a 92 VW Jetta, mid-season the track ammended the rules to read "NO VW or Sports Car versions allowed ie Toyota Celica's, VW's etc". Now this was just a starters class, I didn't have a 16 Valve motor, nor did I have a 1.8 turbo motor, it was a stock 8 valve 1.6, they even made me add 350 lbs to the car as it was a tank that won countless numbers of races, even after the drivers protested to see what was under the hood, nothing more than stock. The track said add 350 lbs to it, I agree'd so long as it could be where I want, now anyone who knows about circle track racing knows it's not how much but where, I ended up with a faster car, not having to use the brakes in the corner as it just rolled on through and then flat to the floor in the centre of the corner. My first year was cut short, I raced a full month and a half, even after taking out a main bearing in the bottom end during the first practice of the year, which had me down for a few races, add to that rain and well, looking back it was the most fun I had, and cost 8$ a night to run in fuel.

Driver out and car turned over, they had fun getting the driver out as he was a bit** larger than I and they didn't want to roll the car over again with him in it, not being able to see the Halo or other roll bars, one could have been broken resting behind his neck, upright the car and take out his spine, luckily the boys thought this one through and talked him through getting out of the car while being upside down unable to reach the quick release as it was farther away from him due to my belt set up. Lesson learned, you can't just jump in someone's race car for a race without making a few changes, safety devices are one thing to think over.

This is after flipping nose first 3 times in the in-field before resting on it's roof, actually the roof was gone it was just roll cage and grass at that point. The driver was a friend who raced in the series above this, took the car out and ended up getting picked up in a wreck, that, well, my car got the worst of. Driver was fine, thanks to proper race gear safety equipment, a hans device is a must, unless you want to hot rod your wheelchair.

I always thought 3 was my lucky number, well on the 3rd night out, my Heart didn't like what I was making it do, I went into a bad heart rhythm which I would have died from had an AICD 'implanted cardio-defibrillator' not shocked me 3 times once I got pitted and the car shut off. This is before it was loaded on the trailer

The Night gets better, after I leave in an ambulance, a friend who drives in a series above this took the car out to see how it was working as they were due to depart every weekend after this and well their help could have been beneficial had the car not got into the air, nose over nose 3 times before resting on it's roof, driver ok, it pays to have your safety devices even if they cost 2k, if you can't afford them, you shouldn't be racing is my take on it.

3 years later after being re-clipped it saw a number of checkered flags, only being out for about 5 nights I think we got 5 wins, two 2nds and 2 thirds outta 15 races, three nights it was put on the trailer as it was running good, having won in the heat races, but wasn't pulling the lap times of the fastest cars, this picture is with all the bugs worked out against the top cars, oh and a back of the pack start. Not to bad, why a #4 when 3's my lucky number, well my first car was painted with a brush and roller, exterior house paint grey. The number was an accidental mistake when the decal guy had a few too many soda pops, misread his notes on what was needed and showed up with the #4, so that's where it started and that's the number I still run today, however I don't drive but it seems the #4 car is pretty stout, GM racing 603, 350, Howe Chassis, GM two speed trans, and a 9'' ford floater rear end. I know, I know, but it's all the division rules allow for, a production run rear end, be it GM, Ford or Dodge or the Ford 9'' floater, same idea as a quick change but we run one track so no need to change gears, the floating axles help in the corners and well the makers of these products didn't have a chevy option, I guess all the hot rodders have been using the 9'' for ever.

By far one of the best trucks I had, I know this is a Chevy site, but this would pull a house down and a Dura or two with it.

Again don't boot me, it's another Ford, it was a nice ride, but it was a 4spd truck and could not pull a trailer with race car in it without making you wonder 'is this thing going to shift outta 1st gear or blow up'

This is the AFTER picture of the 02 5.3 with a rough country levelling kit, New paint, bumpers, mirrors, wheels and tires. Amazing what kinda mileage can be put on these motors.

Born in 1980 was this underpowered small block Vette, around the age of 4 I knew one day I would have one of these cars, the smell of a leaned out 4 barrel or the sound of one with some headers/lumpy cam and mufflers had me hooked. I bought this with the 74 as a package deal, I wish I had kept it to do a LS flip to but the bird cage and frame needed work and well I just have a double car garage not a warehouse, Or I would still have it. One day I'll have another, something about having something from the year I was born always gets me, however a resto on these cars, well the good old boys who at one time would do the bodies/cage well they are long gone from my area. So it will probably be another one that someone has done and is looking to do something else.
