I purchased this used 2005 Silverado on December 5, 2011. It was completely stock excluding a spray in bed-liner and bed cover. The most noticeable difference to the outside is I converted the front end to an older 2000-2002 style. Chevy never made a 1/2 ton crew cab until 2003 when they introduced the new slant nose front end.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
The engine and trans are stock thus far 5.3L and 4L60e. Looking to add turbo soon!!!
Suspension Modifications:
I used the 4/6 static drop kit from McGaughys and added Toxic shocks. Looking for front and rear sway bars!! I auto crossed the truck at the Good Guys car show in March 2013 and I am hooked!!! Looking to dial in suspension, add four wheel disc brakes, and make it handle much better.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Running the all chrome BOSS 330 style rims 22" x 9.5" same size all around with 265/35/22 tires
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Added full length center console from a Tahoe, installed Dynamat in floors, roof, and doors. Added Kenwood double-din head unit with Rockford Fosgate amp and two 10" sub behind the seat. Also upgraded to 6" and 6.75" Rockford Fosgate door speakers. The rest of the interior remains stock for now.
Future Modifications:
Interior and exterior will stay untouched until suspension, motor, rearend, and trans upgrades are completed. Looking to add turbo, four wheel disc brakes, sway bars, etc. I open to any suggestions as I am not a gear head. I am looking for a quality performance shop local to Plano, TX that specializes in trucks (preferably). Thanks ya'all!!!
