I got an update from Julien today. Seems like BAU on board the boat!
The
ship is a civilian commercial vessel being used for military service, I
already collected a lot of pictures of it but can’t send them to you. It’s
a RoRo in the Central gulf/Waterman Fleet. You can probably look up the
company and see a picture of one of their ships. They look like big shoe
boxes on the water…kinda odd looking really!

So anyways…We were on our way to Singapore but got diverted and are now
headed to Kawasaki Japan instead. I hope we’ll stop in Singapore at some
point because I heard that it’s one of the nicest cities/countries to visit.
Not sure on the history of it but they are their own country apart/separate
from Malaysia, kinda like what the Vatican is to Italy. If I had the
internet I’d look it up but I’ll just wait till I get home

something kinda unexpected happened that was rather interesting.
I was on watch taking the vessel through the straits of Hormuz
and not a little bit after we had put the straits to our stern did
I meet up with three US Navy warships, a Cruiser,
Frigate and a Destroyer. Not unusual per say
especially this part of the world, so anyways they gave me a call on VHF 16
cuz we were in a head on situation. I think they were half expecting to
talk to either a Filipino, Asian or Indian mate because when my voice loud
*** American voice crack over the radio “What’s up Navy boys” the watch
officer (OOW) on the other end kind of stuttered! Lol. Well we proceeded
with the formalities of passing arrangements and the whole time the OOW was
like who the hell am I talking to? I gave them my intentions and made it a
point to steer my vessel in such a way that they wouldn’t have to break
formation and gave them a wide berth as the NAVY boys always love (Grippy!).

Other than that we had a small fire in the Incinerator room a few days ago that got a few people scared. Nothing like 11pm fire drills to get everyone all bright eye’d and bushy tailed the next morning.
