Do throttle body spacers really work on GM trucks? Or are they universal paper weights/ whistle makers?

Next time i hit the the strip.. ima take off the spare tire.. hitch. tail gate.. hopefully on a stall.. Lt. and damn it i even will lower the tire pressure...
