What is the most powerful firearm you've ever shot?

Largest I shot was a .300 Winchester Magnum. The gun had no muzzle brake, can't remember if it had a recoil pad or not, as this was back in 1977. A bunch of us (in college) would go gopher hunting on occasion and pool guns. Since I was the smallest and lightest (5'6" and 130 lb.) they naturally stuck me with the biggest cannon they had. Recoil was strong but tolerable. Noise was worse, dang that thing was loud!

Well, since this thread is brought back from the dead... .444 Marlin and .460 Weatherby kick pretty good. Got the typical Remington 700 30-06 at home, but it's not too bad. Had a Browning Sweet 16 that had a decent kick to it, and a few 12's that have come and gone that kicked pretty good, too. Pops bought a S&W 500 and it's up there on the list. I do want to shoot a .410 pistol, though. A local gun shop has a few of them that I've been eyeing.

Most powerful would be M2 .50, ripped it on a tri-pod and mounted. Semper Fi to the other Marines here... gotta be the most Marines in one thread on this site I've seen. Funny how we all tend to like the same ****.
