Even if open carry was allowed here I think Id still CC also. Id rather someone not know Im carrying or have to worry about some crazy running up and grabbing my gun. The legal reprecussions of something like that happening I cant even begin to speculate on.

Dude sounds smart sighting cases to the cops but in reality, save that **** for the courts.
My opinion... sure, here's my name, for your safety & mine, be careful with the gun it is loaded, I've done nothing wrong... so I won't argue with the law.
Cops don't know who they walk up to or get called to assist for stuff... for all that cop knew this guy did just kill someone. You don't know.

The cop was actually being cool about it, he was just responding to a call. I understand it's not a crime but why be that douchy about it... I dig that he's knowledgable but spouting off court case citings in the street is just a dick move, he's dealing with a cop not a DA or Judge.
I live in Alaska, the land of no permits and open carry and I still pack IWB... I'd rather no one know until it's too late and I have the upper hand.

Kudos to the kid for knowing the law and not backing down. Awesome.
In Ohio we also have open carry with no permit, but your not allowed to take a weapon into stores/ businesses that have signs posted against such.
This is though, kind of a " sticky situation" in the vid, but laws are laws and if you uphold or enforce laws you need to know them.

Im sorry .. No matter what the law is about open carry , here in Louisiana its legal, if a complaint comes in through ligitmate resources(his dispatcher) you will get stopped and the gun will be checked and so will you .. Then ur on your on way .. 9 yrs of working Shr Off here in Sth Louisiana i would have stopped him so to speak even without being dispatch out of concern for public safety(thats exactly what the officer said) .. But i happily gave up that career because of crap like this which i think was done intentionally to get an officer to stop him and start reciting off cases he memorised .. Which by the way the officer does not need to kno even in court .. Thats up the Asst DA to do for you .. Dude was doing his job n if someone is walkin the streets with a gun even in a holster legally somebody better stop and check it out

Thats like saying a cop should stop every car he sees with an unopened 6 pack of beer in the passenger seat. Both have a deadly weapon, both are not violating any laws, both are minding their own business. Your logic doesnt compute. Im not saying the dude wasnt out looking for a fight, obviously he had an idea this would happen with all the cases he quoted. Im just not a fan of people getting stopped for abiding by the law, its harassment. If you really would stop a law abiding citizen simply because you didnt like what they were doing, you chose wisely to get out of the LEO profession.
My buddy is a local cop and says the same thing, the guy shouldnt have been stopped and was obviously looking for a confrontation due to the citation of different cases.

I garuntee you walk the streets in Baton Rouge or New Orleans or in lil areas we live in it wont matter .. You gunna get stopped its not harrassment .. Harrassment is the same officer stopping the same person over and over.. It will continue to hapoen erry day..Theres a positive and a negative to this cause nobody gunna mess with a dude carrying a gun anyway EXCEPT the po-po
.. Its a touchy subject to say the least but im agree wit erryone else in the fact that its wayyyy better for u n others to carry concealed( with permit of course ) ..
