Well I had a good time yesterday shooting my 7mm out at mile. This is a fairly new rifle and most of the shooting I have been doing has been at 400 yards for load development. So to setup I got 2 wood pallets and a big 12x 5 piece of white plastic so I could use for a target and be able to hit easier in the wind. Stuck a 6" black target on there for a center point of aim and drove back to set up my shooting position. They way our land is shaped this is the only good area I could shoot from, so it was less than ideal. I had to shoot a few yards away from the house right off the back porch so I moved the patio table and stool out in the yard so I could have a gun rest and a seat lol. I had previously shot out to 800 just too confirm my velocity and drop were on so I plugged the numbers in my ballistic app and started taking shots. I would ride down and check after every 2 shots to see if I hit the big target and sure enough I barely hit once in the very upper right hand corner. Made some more adjustments for wind and spin drift and dropped the elevation a few more clicks and by 5pm the wind was almost dead and the lighting was good too. Sent a group down range and to my surprise the 4 shots measured 15 3/4" group! Sub moa at 1 mile.

Very nice, whats the details on the rifle? Ive got a bad itch to build a nice 300WM to do just what youre doing but theres a few handguns I want first and order a couple more suppressors. What can is that on yours? The same one you use on your 300BO?

Yep the same can that I use on the 300bo. It was originally a savage model 10 fcp hs precision in .308. I let Dixie precision rifles do all the work to it. 26" Kreiger 5r 1:9 twist setup to use 180gr vlds. Barrel is 1.125" at breech tapering down to .9" at the muzzle. They also bedded it along along with a big recoil lug. Spiral fluted bolt and straight fluted barrel. It also has a "muscle" 3 port brake when I don't use the suppressor. Wearing night force nxs glass.

I dunno coal but my base to ogive measures 2.361 and that's seated .010 into the lands.

I couldn't get my 6.5 284 to shoot like I want with the Berger vlds so I switched to Sierra match kings and it loves those.

Nice shooting. A mile makes 1000yrds look like a crap shoot once you do it a few times.
