i've been happy with the black bear tune i got, with basic mods they can do a pretty good job first time and they do offer data logging if you want

Ill have to look into that hard. What hand held tuner is most popular?

 

stay away from handheld "programmers"... contact wheatley or blackbear>>>>>
with basic mods, they can send you a new pcm that will be pretty much dead on. IMO, unless you have some more extensive mods than the basic cold air and muffler, datalogging isnt really necessary

 

If you have an 08 or newer truck, pop for a PCM and have them tune that one, if you have to do any warranty work then pop in your original PCM. Most dealers wont check the BCM unless the PCM is out of spec.

 

^^ That just ruins GM's loyalty to their customers and compromises good customer service that we would deserve after purchasing a $40,000 vehicle. I hate when people try to screw the system.

 

Yea I contacted blackbear via email, but there out of the office do a tuning session somewhere. Thats the probably the route I take.
