Default What PCM do I have?

Hi everyone I came across this fourm through my google search. I just bought a truck buddy said it was a 98 got it home and the manufacturing date is the 8th month of 97 would this be a modle 98 or 97? I have efilive I would like to tune the truck with if possiable. From my search the PCM changed from 1997-1998. The truck has headers throttle body spacer and cold air intake. I have lots of experience in diesels rebuilding them and fixing. I don't know a whole lot about gas. The truck is a 5.7 vortec thanks guys

Most likely, it's a 98. Plug EFILive into it and try reading it out as a L31 vortec 98-00 PMC. If it reads it out and you can open the file, you will be able to tune it.

Theres not a whole lot of options when you go to tune that PCM.. Popular swap is the 0411 pcm swap (2001-2002 PCM)
gives you alot more control and setting options.

Is there a link for a DIY swap? How easy are these 411 pcms to come by? Is it worth it? Or should I just tune the one I got? Thanks

Try spacing them out like that next time..

Search for the 0411 or 411 swap, several guys have done it with writeups.

Depends on if you want it or not.

You can tune what you have if your happy with it.

Your welcome
