Default Unlocking pcm??

I was told that when you use Hpt it automatically locks the computer? Is this true. We changed a few things on my buddies truck with my HPT, he will be getting a tune from a guy who has EFI live. How do I unlock his pcm for him??

Thanks

They are only locked if you lock them and do a write entire.A write entire must be done in order to lock the PCM.

Did you tunerlock it or apply a custom operating system? If not then its not locked.

If you applied a custom operating system then you'll need to write the stock os back to the pcm.

If you tunerlocked it then you'll need to unlock the file & follow the unlock procedures outlined in the help file.

Why would you do a write entire instead of a calibration write if not to lock it?

If you flash a different OS you also must do a write entire, otherwise if you do not do that or lock or unlock them,do a calibration write

Ah, well, I figured if he flashed a custom os he would have been more specific about what was done in the tune besides "a few things".
