tuning Q
Lots of sharp folks still here, you guys commented on my earlier post about octane.
Todays question about the iron 5.7 going into my sons 2003 5.3 Yukon is what would be the smart cost saving way to go about tuning it.I do have EFI live and also Hp tuners, also a non programmed SCT and also have a used PCM service #ending in 411,not sure if it works in a 2003.Its been a few years ago waite for me performance would send a tuned PCM pretty cheap,i know he isnt good at answering emails.Just trying to help the kid get some bang for the buck tuning, thanks. At this time its only mods will be 5.3 to 5.7 tiny cam and increase in compression.

Are you having someone else tune it or you do it?

411 PCM will not work in the 03 truck. They went to P59 in 03.
If you can tune, pick what ever software you are more familiar with. If not, You can try a mail order like @Atomic Performance He can get you a tune in HPT format and also license's if you need them.

Probably HPTuners then. It will cost you maybe $300 for a mail order tune if you go that route and then $100 for you to license the vehicle yourself.

Yea I dont do much tuning anymore, just not worth the squeeze on the time it takes vs the hassle. Not afraid of competition, just get really annoying when someone straight copies my design
