tuner recomendation

I have an 01 Tahoe 4wd 5.3l k&n air filter and hooker aerochamber probably add a corvette servo to the the trans and efans and at most an rv style cam for towing.
who would u recommend to tune my pcm?
im not looking for huge hp gains, just better drivability and a few mpg
I know I would never want to screw with my tune later I just think a programmer would be a waste of money

Your typical hand held tuner can't adjust for a cam. so it would not work any way. It's meant for stock engines and maybe a few bolt on's.
I have never dealt with Nelson myself so I can't comment there.
There is also Black Bear Performance. He does mail order tuning as well as travels a few times a year and does in person tuning at various shops. He also sells the Auto call which allows you to scan and log the vehicle after you make changes and send the files to him. He can then make adjustment to your tune, Email you a new file and allow you to upload it into your vehicle.
I am not sure if there are any local tuners in your area.

thank u for the info. what kind of power/mpg gains should I expect from a basic tune with the bolt-ons that I have
I will probably go with nelson because he's been around this site for so long plus he makes the efan harnesses

If I had to guess, 15-20. But the difference it makes over stock Is definitely noticeable.
Although more expensive, I went with PCM of NC fan harness for an OEM 05- up Style fans. There like $155 when they're on sale. There Customer support was good when I had issues getting it to work correctly. Turns out swapping to a newer operating system fixed the issue. Installed it on a friends 99 truck.
Although I don't know of all the details, I have seen at least 1 and heard of a few failures in the past on the Nelson harness.
I would recommend the Larger radiator and OEM style swap for the fans.
PCM of NC does mail order tuning as well although I have never used them for that specifically.

flying cat, would recommend getting new ls1 fans or getting junk yard gt fans from an 05+ and just getting a new harness. sounds like I would have to get a larger radiator for the gt fans
