MTI turns out a lot of quality work. Everyone has their bad apples. I could name a few from another mentioned tuner, but I will refrain myself. I will say .... if one is curious enough, search.

I dont think Wheatley really meant it in a real rude way, just voicing his facts on what he has seen, I thought thats what this board is for, to give advice??I as well have seen some TRUCKS tuned by them and they always end up going somewhere else.

in no way anyone has said they dont know how to tune, I have seen plenty of f-body's/vettes come out of there and they do a damn great job!! but there is something just about trucks that they dont know or they dont care about....

one proof out of top of my head is a cammed 5.3 truck that they did all the work with one of their MTI cams, and they dyno tuned it as well, well it only had 18*timing in it??? doesnt make sense to me, then we did some logging in the street that's how we found out, and he went back and requested another dyno tune and to make sure to bump up the timing, well they totally refused to do it?? well anyways, he went to another reputable tuner and got 30*timing out of it with no problem, and the trucks feels like a whole different animal....

just trying to give my opinion about what i've personally seen to help out any forum member...

if I have offended anyone, I truely apologize...

I woudn't worry about a retune until you get the 6.0 in there.Getting a newer pcm would be smart thats for sure.On the motor i would try to find one that has been recently wrecked...or a new motor like out of a 05 or 06.
If the motor has been sitting up for a year or longer without being started you could end up needing a few seals and such.Which isn't a big deal but a hassle none the less.

You can run any pcm so long as your harness plugs into it.Make sure whatever pcm you have the computer plug ins are the same.
For instance i just did the 6.0 swap last weekend to my truck. The motor was from a 06 truck and i have a 04.
The harness that came with the motor had the wrong pcm connections on it so i reused my harness from the 5.3 motor.
Your only problem would be that you want to get something other than that 00 pcm.It would be the easiest to find a motor and pcm...but as long as the harness plugs in to the pcm you get it's all gravy.

MTI, HPE, G-force, all of them cant tune trucks like Nelson or Charlie.
F-body's, vettes, well thats their bread and butter.

I have personal experience with MTI and a truck tune, I've seen HPE's "tune" on another friend of mine's truck, and also have heard of a not so good tune from another friend that used G-Force.
