Torque management?

Well i finally did the swap and the trucks running good. The only thing is it seems to be held backnor limited till about 35 or so? I can stall it up to 3000 or so and it wont take off that great and wont break a tire loose from break stalling or even around a corner? It seems to be shifting fine. It comes alive 40+ and ahifts hard outa 1st? Idk whats wrong but with my old set up i couldnt do anything but roll into it without breaking them loose?

Heres my new. And old set up

New: 4l80e with a 2b 3000 multi disk

Old: 4l60e with vette servos and a 3200 single disk?

Mods: are in my sig

It's the 80e. The first gear is much longer so it doesn't just blow them off like before. Keeping traction is a good thing tho :)

In your 80e the ratios look like this....
1 2 3 4 R
2.48 1.48 1.00 0.75 2.07
Vs in your 60e they looked like this.....
1 2 3 4 R
3.059 1.625. 1.000. 0.696 2.29
Get it? Your 1st gear will feel as tho you swapped to 3.23s where as the other gears will feel mostly the same as before. Also the driveline has a little more drag from the increased size and weight of the 80e. It's a very small price to pay for the increased strength.

Humm i guess irs possable? But why would it seem.lile it has more torque with the tow hual.on? Also thw dribe shaft was the stock one just had it shortened alittle ovet 2 inches. But i will say its longer tho shifts outa 1st at about 64 mph and shifts eff n hard! I am planning on trying to go turbo in about 6the months should i keep my gears the same?

it would help if we knew what ratios you have.. but 64mph in 1st id say 3.42s
and id get it softened on the shifts, just needs to click into gear.

i have 3:73 gears. stock 4l80e. my 0-60 times are slower. about 8.0 seconds flat. i know its slower for sure. but once it hits about 40mph it wakes up hard

nonnieselman 03-21-2013 03:33 PM

mine is the same way. just that tall first gear.

darnie 03-21-2013 03:52 PM

ya, im thinking more towards that. i mean it runs good. just alittle slower. but soon " i hope" i will have a snail trail pushing the beast :)

nonnieselman 03-21-2013 03:57 PM

Mine felt alot slower but what it lost on bottom end made up for it on top end.. atleast it doesnt have traction problems :D

darnie 03-21-2013 04:16 PM

ya its what it seems like now... to the tee.... but the top ends to dam top end!
