Throwing o2 sensor code
I have a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RCSB with a 5.3. The truck has a K&N FIPK cold air intake, flomaster duels, and the previous owner said it was programmed. The truck recently threw an o2 sensor code for all of the o2 sensors, so I replaced them all. About 50 miles down the road it threw the same code again. So, do I need to get the truck reprogrammed or what?

did you pull battery cable and reset computer, or go have codes erased?
|
Start with basics. Check fuses ect. 4 o2's dont die all at the same time. There are 2 fuess to check in the underhood fuse box. both are 15amp fuses, o2a and o2b. one fure for each set (b1&2s1 and b1&2s2). Maybe that helps. There also was a TSB for the o2's getting water in them and breaking. they recommend replacing the broke o2 and doing a reflash for the latest update. hope that helps.

Just wondering what code(s) are you getting?

I think I have it straightened out. The gas station that i was getting my gas at had 10% ethanol in thier gas, and ethanol will atract moisture. So I went and tried another station without ethanol and the light went back out.
|
The light came back on, it is saying bank 1 sensor 1&2 low voltage and bank 2 sensor 1&2 low voltage. I checked the fuses that were stated earlier, but they were still good. I am out of ideas...

Bump! Guys I really need some help!

You need a good scan log to determine your problem otherwise your just going to chase symptoms and not the source. It could be a number of things like a vacuum leak, ground, bad battery, etc but without a good scan log it is hard to chase your problem.

My mechanic said that he checked for vacum leaks, shorts or messed up wires, fuses, he cleaned the air filter and he verified that the O2 sensors are still good. Would a dirty or broken MAF sensor be causing this issue?

post up the specific codes. Like P0131. All of them.
