Default Throttle position and idle in gear questions

1. If I'm at a complete stop (in gear) the truck idles pretty good around 900 rpm. When I let off the brake the rpms go up to about 1100 and then start creaping up to around 1500 as the truck starts rolling. Last night I just let off the brake from a complete stop to see how fast the truck would go on its own. It eventually shifted into second gear by it self and ended up going 22 mph without me even touching the gas. Its very annoying especially in traffic. Does anyone know what is causing this?

2. When I log my truck the TPS is reading like 16 % at idle and will only go 93%-94% at WOT. Is this normal?

My brother has a bone stock 2000 2500 GMC with a 6.0. When I log his truck the TPS is 0% at Idle. I didn't get to floor it to see what it would goto at WTO though.

Any input would be great. Thanks.

BTW, will be going back to Allen's soon, I got the SD Tune from HPT.

your truck has the fly by wire T-body on it and your brothers is a cable T-body that is why it does not show the same. On my truck it idles around 12-14% and I usually see 96-100% at wot. The 16% is how it sets the idle as far as I know so you will never see 0%.

My truck does the same thing. But it doesn't really bother me, I'm used to it.

a stock throttle by wire truck will show about 5-7% at idle.

the truck taking off by itself is either an intake plumbing leak (after the MAF) or a tune issue. I see Nelson listed in your sig. line, I'd get with him and let him know what is going on and see what ideas he may give you.

My '03 LQ4 has always been 7% TPS at idle and 99% at WOT and my RPM at idle is around 575 rpm. I think that there is something wrong with the way your truck is tuned, even with a big cam it should not work like that. Allen needs to adjust your tune.
