My clutch slips when locked, when I accelerate hard at highway speeds. The truck jerks like it would if the ignition was being turned off and on twice per second or so. I at first thought it was a lean surge, but after thinking about it I decided to try unlocking the converter and accelerating. That made the jerking go away.
Two questions.
1. In VCM controls, TCC solenoid on/off did nothing, TCC PWM on/off locked/unlocked the converter. Is that an OS thing, or is there something wrong?
Even though I am pretty sure this slipping started when I was pulling a car on a trailer and accelerating hard at highway speed with the converter locked, I still want to know:
2. What else can I test before ordering a new converter?

60e or 80e?
I don't think you'll be able to tell the difference between a slipping converter clutch, or a slipping 3-4 clutch pack. That's how it was with my 60e when the 3-4 clutch pack gave out. Held fine in 3rd, slipped in 4th.

My 80e only does it when the converter is locked.
I don't understand the log I took. It always says 80%-78% slip. The slip rpm goes from -9 to 8. The input rpm will read 2300-2400, engine rpm is 1700-1800. I must have set the scanner up wrong.(?)
