Default <TECH ONLY> accessory wiring on 07 tahoe/suburban

so i installed a cell phone dock into an 07 suburban today and made it enable with the key in the run position. i used one of the "run" wires in the ignition harness, everytime i returned it to the "off" position from the "run" position the starter would engage for almost a second. i searched for an hour and could not find another "key on" power wire under the dash. i'm pulling my hair out on this one.

thanks in advance for any help.

you could possibly run a relay directly off of the ignition wire from the ignition.

It sounds like something is just back feeding threw the harness. Is anything pluged in to the new ports when the starter cranks in the off position? where did you connect your ground? this may get very interesting with the way this new trucks are wired.......

and get this. i found one more wire that was "run only". it tested 11.5 volts. when i hooked the wire up to it, it went down to 3 volts. it was the yellow wire in the side fuse panel. i'm pretty sure it was for the cluster illumination.

I don't know if G.M is doing this, But som ECMs only put out 10-11 volts. That way it can detect a short to ground or a short to another wire. I'll have to do more research. I can't remeber how it works good enough to explan it...
