Kinda hard to say without knowing more about the Tahoe. Stock engine? What converter and tires are on it. does it feel strong once the rpm's come up a little? The gear swap only netting .007 is a little odd.

The stock converter isn't helping but with that gearing change you should have seen a better 60ft. Without seeing the tune its hard to say, there are many things you can play with in the tune to help it come out of the hole harder.

I would say what you are seeing is normal 4L80E operation. While not as drastic, I went from 3.42s to 3.73s when my 10-bolt died and I put the 9.5" 14 bolt in its place in my Express. My old 5.7 makes more torque down low than your 6.0 does and I still did not notice much off the line change. With the tall first gear ratio of the 4L80E the mild gear change you performed does not change the overall 1st gear ratio all that much. First gear in a 4.10 geared 4L80E is roughly equivalent to a 3.23 geared 4L60E. I have a stock 4.3 2,200 rpm high stall converter in my Express and despite putting down 300 RWTQ @ 2,000 rpm just hammering the throttle from a stop, I can only sometimes break the tires (255/45R20s) loose until 10-15 mph. That being said when I had the 4L60E with its lower first gear and the looser 2,600 rpm converter I could spin the tires with relative ease at about 1/2 throttle.

4L80 and converter are your problem. A it's a power hungry tranny, the stock converter is really tight and it doesn't have as low of a 1st gear as a 4L60 but the trade off is you wont blow it up. Gotta get power up and a looser converter and you'll offset it's power robbing side effect.

The 80e only takes like 10hp more than the 60e. The difference is from the gearing in the trans. Did the tuner disable abuse mode? TM is only active on shifts.

The stock converter is a bit tight for a LS engine although a GM B82 foot stalls about 2,300 rpm behind my cammed L31. I suspect it would only stall 2,100-2,200 behind a stock 6.0.

The 4L80E only takes about 10 HP more to run than the 4L60E, but has a bit more internal mass in addition to the taller gearing. The factory torque converter is also a good bit heavier compared to a factory 4L60E converter. That additional rotating mass does not really show up as a power loss on the dyno, but shows up real world when you try to accelerate from a stop. I had to add a substantial amount of acceleration enrichment fuel and slightly retard the timing during the transition from idle to stall speed due to the additional weight of the 4L80E converter.

I would remove abuse mode, but leave about 50% torque management in the shifts. With the quicker shift times and slightly higher line pressure map I run, any more than 50% reduction causes my Express to lay rubber during the 1-2 shift at anything over 1/2 throttle. To say it is a harsh upshift would be an understatement.
