Under cutoff rpm vs. gear you will see normal and etc
Both of those need to be raised. If not you will hit the rev limiter still around 5900 or so.

You wouldn't happen to know the corresponding tables in EFI? Thats what I have.

zippy could this be why my truck was commanding to shift at 6100-6200 and not shifting until 6500 at times?

No, that is something completely different. This is just a rev limiter issue. I haven't figured out why that other problem happens as it only shows up on some trucks.

This kind of sounds like a ground problem. Holty had a problem similar to this and now that I have read the problem over again, I don't think it's anything to do with your shift points or rev limiter. You could try lowering your shift point to like 5500 or something and see if it still does it. I think you'll find that it will.

Hmm. You've had this happen b4? Why would a ground only mess up high revving shifts?

My issue did turn out to be not a ground issue, but just the simple issue my my wot mph was too high so i was hitting my fuel rev limiter before it shifted. i just had to reduce my wot shift mph a few mph and it fixed it. i've also found that the truck does take 300-500 rpm to actually shift after the shift is commanded. for example, if you zero out your wot mph and set you 1-2 shift to 6100, it still might not shift until 6500 or so.

zippy, the issue you're thinking of is something completely different where i would just be driving down the road and randomly my truck would shut down and start back up within 1 second. that problem has either gone away on its own or has been in hiding for awhile now. lol

yeah holty i think you rright. mine was just doing it usually in first gear but i think that because it revs so quickly in first that the shift takes a tenth or two and by then its already up to 6500. i was kind of hoping the bottom end with the vic jr and lower compression might actually slow my bottom end down a bit but only time will tell.
