Remote start on 2003 Silverado, brake wire acting up
#1
I installed a crimestopper RS-1 remote start on my truck. Everything works good as far as remote starting it, but-----
once you start it up with the remote and get inside and go to drive off, something is going on with the brake switch as it feels like the transmission isn't locking up (it just revs and barely moves). I think the remote start box is sending power to the brake switch, which is telling the PCM to unlock the converter. I think I might have something backwards maybe lol
here is what the instructions say to connect as far as connecting the remote start- shut off wire to the brake (so when you push the brake it overrides the remote start)
"Connect the Purple wire to the side of brake pedal switch that shows 12 volts ONLY when pedal is depressed"
here is a pic of the wiring diagram for the remote start

these are the wires I used to install the remote start (found off a random forum)
2002 - 2004
Constant 12v = Red @ Steering column
Ignition 1 = Pink (Necessary) @ Steering column
Ignition 2 = White (Necessary) @ Steering column
Accessory = Orange (Necessary for ac/heat) @ Steering column
Accessory 2 = Brown (Usually Optional) @ Steering column
Starter = Yellow @ Steering column
Horn = Black or Black/Yellow (-) @ Steering column
Brake = White or light blue @ brake switch

Maybe I'm not understanding something, but the torque converter does not ever lock up until you are moving, and depending on the tune, it's usually over 45 mph, and only happens in 3rd or 4th gear.
If you put the transmission in gear, and the truck doesn't move when you touch the gas, and the engine is revving, I'd say check the fluid level first. Then check for transmission DTC's. Then pull the pan, you may have a mechanical problem.
If something electrical has gone wrong, maybe the transmission is trying to leave stops in 2nd or 3rd gear. That would feel like a slipping transmission(and can damage the transmission if you beat on it). You may want to check some fuses, etc. as well.
