port/polished throttle body probs..
#11
Yes.. the idle seems to be pretty good right after start up. But if i barely touch gas to say 1500 rpm, then it will settle and "very" slowly go back to idle speed of about 600 rpm. If I give it a slightly bigger breath of air to say 2500 rpm, then it will not settle back down, but instead very slowly start revving even higher with no gas being applied at all. I just cut it off after it climbed up to 3500+. I can move the blade from the home position in photo to fully closed without any interference at all.

Was the ported throttle body the only change you made to the vehicle when you found this problem? Do you have the ability to watch your throttle % when your vehicle is running? A handheld scanner, or even the Torque App on Android or iPhone?

I re installed TB today but swapped the plastic, electronics connection housing from my old TB. This seemed to fix it. The truck is vastly more responsive with light throttle. It is "jumpy" for sure. I notice that in 4th gear, the torque converter lock releases much more often and quickly with light throttle increases. Did a WOT run and noticed that Dyn Air/Cyl is still peaking at max 0.68 so I cannot necessarily say that it is generating any more power at WOT. All my fuel trims are now reading slighty negative, so i will tune that later.

I finally multiplied the minimum idle air table by about 80% and it has been running much better. Thanks to Mike Norris Motorsports for this tip. The throttle response is tremendous with no noticeable MPG loss. This has by far been the biggest noticeable improvement in "seat of pants" feeling, bolt on I've ever used. And, it only costs about $150.
