Default pcm relearn period

I've red on different sites that after swapping a tuned pcm that it still takes some time to relearn and adjust to the changes. Then after some riding a couple hundred miles it will wake up even more. Any truth to this??? With only around 30 miles after swap I picked up 3 tenths and 3 mph gain over the hypertech handheld unit in 1/8 mile run. May have been more on a 1/4 mile track.

NO. Let me clarify. Last weekend I ran the truck with the Hypertech. This weekend I swapped pcm/tcm's and picked up the 3 tenths and 3 mph. But I've read it takes more than the 30 miles I put on mine before the test runs for the truck to show it's full potential.

The pcm you swapped into it, was it tuned/ stock or what?

Edit. just read your sig. Wheatley tuned.
Not sure if it gets better or not, it relearns the idle but i dunno about cruise. Maybe?

When Nelson used to do my tuning he said it would take up to 500 miles for learning period. So yes, it does take a few miles to get the full effect of the tune
