Default P1336 wont go away??

I got an SES light today and went to my buddy's house and we pulled up the DTC's with the scantool and I got a p1336 so we did a crank re-learn and cleared the code and it popped back up, it did that 3 more times and I still have the light. Has this happened to anyone before??

You should not have to do a crank relearn unless the PCM has been replaced, engine replacemenet or anything that would affect the relation to the CKP and trigger. If the code just poped up out of the blue, I would check the sensor and/or reluctor wheel witch may have been damadged somehow or failed.

yeah if it keeps popping up even after the crank relearn its probably a bad sensor. I always do a crank relearn after a full rewrite just to be on the safe side.

A while back my truck was just dying randomly and someone sugested the crank sensor, so I got a new one from GM, replaced it and it never died again. So its a brand new sensor. BTW its an 01 Sierra 5.3. The truck runs fine except for the code.

What kind of scan tool are you using. is the relearn succesful? Have you taken a good look to make sure the Sensor is not loose and its aligned up right. No damadge to the reluctor from rocks or other road hazards? This code usualy means that the case sensor variation is not leanerd. Take a real good look for crankshaft runout as well.
