Question OK tuning pro's a few?? for ya on software.

Ok folks i see all these different types of software to get the tune just right for mod's and such that we all have done to our rides. My question is what is the difference's in HP TUNERS, LS1 EDIT, EFI LIVE.. I am one day going to have my truck about where i want it, have it tuned by a pro on the first few go rounds, but in the mean time my buddy, I would kinda like to learn how to do some of it ourself/myself. So for anybody, that can tell me the PROS, CONS, between the 3 if any, would be a really big help to me. I no there is alot of people on here that do there own tuning, that are very good at it. So any info that you could post up on your experiance with any of them would be a great help to me.. Sorry for the long post.

Thanks All JOHN

I just started using EFI live and like everything about it. There is a sale on EFI Live V1 right now. This is a tough question because many people have used one or the other, not usually both. Hopefully you can get some good comparisons though. LS1 edit is outdated from what I understand.

Ive used both to tune and I like HPT better, EFI live has more features and can do more. But as far as the software being user friendly go with HPT

You can't beat the $550 deal on EFILive IMO.

Both are great prices, I was kinda comparing the old EFILive price to the new one when I said that. A $300 price drop stands out to me, but it should've been $550 in the first place.

I have seen some other threads about this and now that I realized my STS is not just a plug and play, I will be heading down this road also. So far it seems like the favorite is HPT, please chime in all with your opinions. I will probably buy one of these next week and would really appreciate everyone's input. And can you make a suggestion on who to buy each from.

Problem with HPT $500 version, is you can't log air/fuel with out hacking into another sensor on the car. You have to buy there $650 version to have input/out capability. They both do a great job and for the most part, can do the same things, it more of a user preference. I have EFILive and you can not get better customer service then with Live. These guys have gone above and beyond for me. Their software has helped me take my 5500lbs, 4.8, STS turboed 4x4 truck to a 13.47 at 100.7 with perfect, like stock street maners.
