O2 Sensor Troubles!
#1
I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I'm hoping it is.
I recently purchased two pre-cat O2 sensors online, ACDelco GM#19178934 for my 1999 Chevy Suburban. When I tried to install them, I foung that the truck's harness has a male plug, requiring a female on the sensor, but the Delcos have male plugs on them as well! All my searching and Googling has turned up pictures of AC Delco sensors with male plugs, and no one seems to have an adapter or some way of mating them.
So my question is, cut and splice the female off the old sensors (they appear to by factory sensors, and I figured if I connected the male on the new sensor to the female on the old sensor, and spliced accordingly the wiring will all match up ) or is there something I'm missing here?
BTW, old sensor's wire colors are purple, tan and 2 browns and the new sensors are 2 blacks, a blue and a white. Not sure if that helps at all.
Thanks in advance!

That part # shows to be for a 99 Suburban 1500 with a 4L80 or a 5 speed manual transmission. AC Delco part # 19178918 is for a 99 Suburban 1500 with a 4L60. This was all looked up at rockauto dot com. They have pics of the parts too. O2 sensors can be found under the Emissions subsection for your vehicle.
