Oh yeah, if that's not working it puts you in some pretty wild places in some of the maps in the tune. You really need to scan it and see what all your sensors are reading. It's so much easier to do it that way than swapping parts until it starts. Take advantage of the benefits of the efi system.

Pulled plugs when doing the comp test, didnt look flooded.

Had already changed coolant temp sensor, no change.

Injectors are firing, no question there.

I can try another crank sensor, I was just trying to avoid it as its a pain.

As for the cam vs crank timing, I would imagine it would have shown some sort of sign while doing the compression test, as it shouldnt really be right if your timing is off.

Well I had pushed this truck aside for the last 6mo or so, but Im starting to mess with it again. Tried today:

Checked spark again-good

Bypassed the whole fuel system by running a pump directly to the rail-no change

So tomorrow Ill do the crank sensor, and maybe even the cam sensor. Any other ideas I can try while Im at the garage tomorrow??

unbolt the y pipe from the manifold and see if it will fire off to eliminate the exhaust being plugged.

Lol, this is NH, you dont just unbolt a y pipe. The studs will snap, then you have to pull the manifolds, and those bolts will snap, then you have to pull the heads.... you guys are so lucky without rust.

atleast put your hand over the exhaust outlet and see if it feels like it is flowing freely. if not, hack out the converters and weld a piece of pipe in.

Yes exhaust is flowing fine.

This is interesting though, seems Ive developed a new symptom.

Turn the key on, the fuel pump turns on for one second literally, like no where near long enough to prime the system to pressure. Then it shuts off, and doesnt even turn on when cranking. Im starting to think I have a pcm issue.

So, I ran a second pump from a 5gal bucket directly to the rail, powered it up, still doesnt start.

Is the Security light flashing? If so it could be killing the pump.

I have a feeling you have an issue with the BCM or the electronic switch in the key cylinder.

We had this same issue on a truck and had to have both changed and reflashed at the dealer.

No flashing security light. I think you are probably right, its got to be something like that. Got to decide what to do, truck isnt worth putting a ton of money into.
