Hey, I was wondering if there is any way to run a dry shot with hp tuners adding fuel by injectors similar to a stand alone would do? If not is there at least a way to retard the timing by switch (aka nitrous button)? Describe your nitrous setup!

 

I think if you run a dry shot before the MAF the computer will compensate and add fuel accordingly. Depending on the shot size you can retard timing in your tune via HPtuners.

On my setup, I have a wet kit. I dial in the fuel with the fuel jet and take out the needed timing via EFIlive. Has been working fine for years.

 

A lot of guys use the IAT sensor on a switch to retard timing. If your controller is fancy enough you could control it automatically like that.

 

I think foose04 uses HP Tuners to activate his dry kit although I could be wrong. Never really asked him about it.

 

Not running a MAF sensor. I'm not looking to trick it with sensors. Just looking to see if hp tuners can add fuel, if not I'll stick with a wet setup.

 

Hptuners is a tool you use to calibrate the factory style computers, its not some magic box.

 

If you were going to always run nitrous, it could be tuned for it by just adding more fuel. I would run a wet kit though. That's what I am doing this year.

 

In EFILIve you have the ability to control nitrous (timing and fuel modifications) functions via an additional pcm switched ground with an operating system upgrade. Does HP Tuners not offer this?

Old school way would be to setup the tune where/when the IAT value goes to a default value timing and fuel can be modified to compensate for the nitrous use, ie timing tricker with benifits.
