I'm a diesel noob. I just bought a 2003 Silverado 2500HD with the D-max. What are you guys using for tuning? I've heard it's the best thing to do to a diesel because it's so easy to change the settings. Do the tuners come pre-programmed? Any help would be appreciated. I plan on running straight pipes, CAI, and a tuner. Other than that, just appearance stuff. Thanks in advance.

 

My Buddy Has A 06 Duramax. We Found That The Edge Juice Was The Best Tuner For Out The Hole Reaction. Bully Dog Triple Dog Is Mostly For Mid And High Range Runs. You Can Also Stack Them For Max Performance.

definatly check out dieselplace.com. if your not looking for full editing software like efi live or hp tuners, i'd check out the ppe programmers. they seem to do pretty good.

 

EFI is top of the line. you can change just about anything with it. if not then check on the PPE tuners. next best thing to EFI and the best tuners out there for out of the box tunes.

I run Edge Evo programmer. It come preprogrammed w/ 4 different settings and comes w/ an EGT sensor.

If you want something better and are willing to pay for it, go with either EFI Live (You will have to tune yourself but I think some vendors sell it w/ some tunes or just look through the repository at what others have done) or go with PPE (which is a preloaded programmer).
