I pulled the AC + trigger off my AC and ran it through a relay that was triggered by a 220 grounding water temp sensor.
Got tired of my flexlites sounding like a jet engine clicking on and off while sitting in a drive through.
After making the adjustment, my fans never went into high mode, temp never reached 220, even in Texas summer heat.

Its a complete waste to run the high speed trigger on the AC.

The AC trigger is for condensor airflow, not really engine heat. If you want your AC to work well when you are sitting still you want the high speed option.

OK, now that I have a schematic, what is that dashed line in-between the two pcm connections for pin 33 and 42?

Just ignore it. It is not relevant for wiring the relays.

Someone has to have done this conversion. Anyone? I really don't feel like paying another 125.00 for another harness. A wiring schematic on the 2 wire setup would probably work too.

Mike
call painless and tell them you want a thermostat with the on/off values that you desire. couldnt be more than $10 for a different sensor.

Glad you are happy with your painless harness but there are advantages to having the PCM to control the fans. With PCM control you also get fan control with A/C pressures. It works fine if you just avoid buying the 1 wire harness. Either buy the aftermarket 2 wire harness or get a factory harness from a 05-07 classic truck at a salvage.

You might want to look into wiring like the 02 Camaro that uses the 3 wire AC pressure switch. I use the 3 wire pressure switch with a Volvo 2 speed fan and relay with 0411 pcm and it works great.

This link breaks down the specifics.

Sounds a bit complicated to me. I didn't read that whole thread but I kinda got the jist of it. I'd be happy enough with a two wire system using the two separate fan controls through the pcm, with possibly an in-cab override switch for high speed control.
