There is a small group of us on the PPE forum working on installing 411 PCMs with the programming from L31 Savannahs. Besides the overcoming the limitations in RPM and available programmers, I am interested in knowing how much displacement these PCMs will handle.
The stock PCM on my truck only supports 1.0 liter per cylinder maximum, so it will support a 454, but not a 496, 502 and definately not a 572.
I know the 411 PCM supports a 496 (8.1L) so the limit must be higher than 1.0
At some point in the future I want a tall-deck bigblock under the hood but I prefer it running on a GM PCM.
Anybody know how big these PCMs will support?
