Default LS1fans efan harness and 05+ efans

Need a little help from some smart people. I just install my harness and the 05+ efans. Tuned the computer to run them. I was able to turn the fans on and off with the HPtuner software. I did this once and they worked fine. then turned the ac on to have the one fan come on by itself. it worked fine. Let the truck sit and run to get up to temp. the temp got to about 230 and the fans did not come on. turned everything off and just tried to use the software to turn the fans on and nothing. after checking the 2 40amp fuses, they are both blown. I'm not sure why. everything is hooked per instructions. I installed a 145 amp alternator a while back, i have headers but other than that the truck is stock. Can anyone tell me why the fuses blew?

Which year truck are these going on? 99-02 had a 512kb PCM and the 03-04 to 06-7 had the 1mb PCM Both PCM's have differing methods to work correctly. It sounds like you are using the wiring harness from an 05 truck. I am not positive but I have heard they wire differently than an aftermarket wiring harness. Others will chime in if that is the case.

sorry guys, I think I found the problem. I had a power and ground wires a little to close together. it was arcing, i didnt figure it out untill I went thru 6 fuses. 2 days so far, working great. just to answer some questions, I have an 04 gmc sierra, I wired them up according to the instructions on ls1fans.com. The wiring snafu was my fault and partly the beers fault too.

Thanks for your replies.
