I have a 2000 Silverado 4x4 and just installed a 2002 Escalade EXT 6.0 LQ9.
My question is I still have the stock computer that was in the truck.The truck was a LQ4 6.0.The truck runs great but was wondering if I need the escalade ecm or a tune.

 

Just trying get the most out this combo.The truck has duel exhaust with stock manifolds cats and Borla mufflers.

 

Your ECM will work fine, but I would get a good tune to optimize fueling and timing and to fine tune everything. Those two engines were different compression so a tune should be on your to do list.

 

Does anyone no of a good tuner in the Seattle Tacoma area? Preferably a GM tuner.

 

Honeslty a 2000 6.0 swapped for a another shouldnt require a tune

Only change was .5 compression...not enough to worry

 

Yes I would have it tuned. That's the only way you will get the most out of it.

 

You dont have to tune it but if you want it tuned it will pic up some power

 

Hey thanks for the input! I think I am going to add a new cam then have it tuned. Any suggestions for a mild cam that will wake this thing up. Not looking to drag race just lurk in the shadows.LOL

 

I have EFI Live and I compared two of the LQ4 and LQ9 files from Holden Crazy with the same OS. Keep in mind that other LQ9 files out there could be different from the comparison.


I checked the VE table and the MAF table and they were 100% the same. Here is a comparison.
