Default LQ9 5 speed programming

I have a 2000 silverado with an LQ9 and a 5 speed. Are the hypertech programmers vehicle specific or can you mix and match engine/trans. combos? I will get one if it will work for my engine/trans combo. I tried reflashing my computer with a mastertech scan tool to think it was an escalade, which the engine is out of, but since my truck has 5 speed there was 14 auto trans codes because you can't get an escalade with a 5 speed.

sounds like you need a computer based programming tool like efilive or hp tuners or ls1edit

Hypertech aint gonna cut it. Your gonna need to get a full tune with HPTuners or EFILive.
