i installed another instrument cluster from an 03 SSS and had SERVICE BRAKE BOOSTER come up and the battery light was on, my SES light stays on so i dunno if that had came on!!!!! I put the stock cluster in and both the above codes or lights went off so i took both of them apart and installed the Trans temp gauge and white overlay onto my gauges and put them back in so i think we might try again tomorrow and see what happens

 

Thats called reading the vcm. If you try to acces the vcm you will get the number 3 and it will say NO basically.
If you open the scan section of hptuners....you can start a log once you have the truck running. Start the log then pic how you want to veiw it...like gauges or table graph so on etc.
You can scan and log a locked pcm i have done it several times.

 

i was able to read nelson's tune with justins help using efi-live. couldnt overwrite it but was able to read it.

 

We were able to log it, but not read the tune that was on there.

 

bill at HPT said it might be tunerlocked and said if so we couldnt even scan it, that was his email back to us!!!!!!!! But i have another stock pcm comming so i guess well try that when it gets here
