LC-1 arrived...how did you all mount it, hardwire it in?

$29 for a freaking conversion cable. What a arsehole raping. It's the hardware driver's that I need. I'm sure the conversion cable is dirt cheap.

"Note: If your computer does not have a serial connection, you can use a USB-to-Serial adapter from any RadioShack or electronics store."

Is it really as simple as just using the conversion wire? Chime in BlackGMC

No, I tried it. The one I borrowed from Corey is not working with Vista on my computer. I have installed the drivers (for vista even) and connected it all up. The LC1 software keeps telling me that there is no serial port available. I have read that the LC1 is VERY picky when it comes to adapters.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, nope i had a bitch of a time the first time, if i remember correctly, also when i tried to reinstall it to program Scott's LC-1 we gave up after about 10min when i remembered my work laptop has a serial port

so thi isnt a simple plug in wideband? i gottta program it on a laptop and stuff?

why would it be picky? that makes no sense.

The software is picky as to what it will recognize and what it won't. I have read a couple reports of people using the adapter for other devices which works fine, but is unresponsive with the LC1. Don't ask me how, but that's what I've read.
