Default knock retard why??

ok i've been doing some tuning and playing around and this whole time i thought i had a great tune well come to find out a person that was helping me tune disabled my knock sensors. i found out becouse i got a low voltage knock sensor code a couple of times and i was trying to figure out what he did to fix the weird knock i was getting and i found all the tables zeroed out. so i was doing so ve tuning in sd and it seemed to be running really well then i connected my maf and now i get crazy kr and it feels like a turd of the line where it didn't before and just now i went out side to check my cig lighter fuse and it was blown and i fixed it and connected hpt to the truck to see if that was why i couldn't connect and it was but as i was sitting there i reved it up a couple of time and got anywhere from 3-5* of kr. and the max timming was 25* it usually just comes where i'm going up a steep incline at low speed high gear and the tc has to unlock or is not locked.

can a loud exhaust cause knock retard. i have no muffler i took it of and i keep getting knock retard in the same spot no matter how much timming i take away. so could it be the exhaust. it always at the same time on small inclines in overdrive with tcc unlocked and giving it about half throttle or so.

yes I have the same problem so do others. Alot of the kr tables for trucks are overly sensetive go to horists website download a stock tune and go from there. If you run 93 all the time cut the max kr vs rpm in half so instead of -10 you should have -5. Under the calibration tab adjust the tip in tps and rpm tables especially down low where the tcc is locked also rpm vs cyl can be tweaked that should help out alot but now you must run 93 all the time. Raise burst kr
