Default Jet performance tuner

I was thinking of getting HP tuners or efi live for my truck.. is is 1990 chevy k1500 that is a GM performance parts 350HO crate engine with vortec heads.
i upgraded everything to 96. it has a vortec intake manifold, 4l60e transmission and all the wiring. . i found Jet performance makes a stand alone tuner for$500 for my truck.. does anyone know if this is good?
let me know what you think.. any help would be appreciated.

It's actually the only company that supports the 96's. Nether HPT or EFILive go back before 98 with the vortecs

I hear is ok, but doesn't have a scanner, so you have to find something for that.

Three things for ya:
1. 411 PCM conversion:411 PCM Swap/ TwinTurbo Vortec 5.7 Thread

2. Then tune with HPTuners or EFILive with a 01/02 Express 5.7L Calibration file.

3. Jet DST sucks, don't touch it, its a bad version of the original TunerCats 2, you can get the original TunerCats 2 from Moats.net, but even his mxscan scanning add on for TC2 does not support the 96/97 pcm.

Yep! as Mr Wallace said.
Much easier to swap to a 0411 PCM and then use EFILive to tune.
I swapped my 98. One of, if not the best mod so far!
Oh, and I have Jet's DST. It now lives in the bottom of my toolbox.
